Ganpat University - V.M. Patel Institute of Management (VMPIM) organized a workshop on “Mutual Fund Essentials - Understanding Types and Terminology” on February 15, 2024. The workshop was led by Mr. Pinakin Patel, Branch Head at SBI Fund Management Ltd. This insightful session aimed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of how mutual funds operate and familiarize them with the essential terminology used in the execution of mutual funds. Mr. Pinakin Patel began the workshop by explaining the basic concepts of mutual funds, including how they pool resources from multiple investors to purchase securities. He delved into the different types of mutual funds, such as equity funds, debt funds, and hybrid funds, explaining the characteristics and benefits of each type. This provided students with a clear understanding of the variety of mutual fund options available in the market.
