Description
The technical visit was organized as an Exposure Visit for Civil Engineering Students to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practices. The visit aimed to provide insights into industrial operations and standard practices in civil engineering, in alignment with BIS standards.
1. Vinayak TMT Bars Pvt. Ltd.
Students were given a guided tour of the manufacturing unit where they observed the production process of TMT bars.
2. Visit to IIT Gandhinagar
An engaging workshop on “Building Futures – Standards for Civil Engineering” was conducted by experts from BIS. Key topics included:
- The role of standards in sustainable infrastructure
- Latest developments in civil engineering codes
- Student involvement in standardization
Students visited advanced civil engineering laboratories at IIT Gandhinagar, where they witnessed:
- Material testing equipment
- Structural analysis tools
- Concrete and soil testing demonstrations
