About Mundra Port

Mundra Port, operated by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), is one of the largest and most significant ports in India. It is a deep-water, all-weather port capable of handling a variety of cargo, including containers, liquid, bulk, and automobiles. The port plays a crucial role in India's international trade and logistics network.

Visit Highlights

Our visit started with a briefing session by the officials at the Mundra Port, who explained the significance and operational aspects of the port. We were taken on a guided tour covering various sections of the port, including:

  1. Container Terminal – We observed how goods are systematically stored, managed, and transported using cranes and automated systems.
  2. Bulk Cargo Handling – The process of handling bulk materials like coal, iron ore, and fertilizers was demonstrated.
  3. Liquid Terminal – We learned about the storage and transportation of liquid cargo, including petroleum and chemicals.
  4. Automobile Logistics Hub – A special area dedicated to automobile exports and imports.
  5. Port Security and Safety – We were given an overview of the stringent security measures in place to ensure smooth operations.
