An insightful seminar on “Prototype Validation: Converting Innovation into a Start-up” was organized by Shree S. K. Patel College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Ganpat University at the Seminar Hall on 28th August, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of 181 students and 5 faculty members who were eager to learn about innovation, entrepreneurship, and the journey of converting ideas into start-ups.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Riddhi Jani, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy-Ganpat University.
The expert speaker for the session was Dr. Sanjeev R. Acharya, Principal, Institute of Pharmacy, Ganpat University. He shared his valuable thoughts and knowledge on the respective topic and began the session by explaining the concept of innovation and start-ups. He illustrated his points with relevant examples to help students understand how innovative ideas can be transformed into successful ventures.
Dr. Sanjeev Acharya highlighted the importance of the three key pillars of future success – Innovation, Scalability, and Sustainability. He explained that innovation is about generating new ideas, scalability refers to the ability to grow and expand, and sustainability ensures a balance between economic, social, and environmental impacts. This integrated approach, he pointed out, enables organizations to drive growth, meet evolving needs, uphold ethical integrity, and create long-term value for both business and society.
He also explained the 5D’s framework for launching a successful product, which includes Discovery, Definition, Design, Development, and Delivery. This structured model provided students with a clear roadmap for transforming a concept into a market-ready product.
The session became more engaging as Dr. Sanjeev Acharya presented case studies and conducted various brainstorming activities, which encouraged active participation from students. These activities helped them to apply theoretical concepts into practice, develop problem-solving abilities, and think critically about entrepreneurial opportunities.
The session concluded with a highly interactive question-and-answer round, where students clarified their doubts and engaged directly with the speaker. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the depth of interest and learning achieved through the session. Overall, the seminar proved to be informative, interactive, and inspiring, motivating students to nurture their innovative ideas and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities with confidence.
