One Day Workshop on “Quality Benchmarks in Higher Education: Accreditation & Ranking Insights” was organized on 13th September 2025 at Seminar Hall, Shree S. K. Patel College of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Ganpat University, Mehsana, Gujarat, India. The objective of the workshop is

  • To familiarize participants with quality benchmarks set by national and international accreditation bodies and ranking frameworks.
  • To enhance understanding of accreditation processes such as NAAC, NBA, and global quality assurance mechanisms.
  • To discuss strategies for quality improvement in teaching, learning, research, innovation, and governance.
  • To build capacity for data-driven decision-making and effective documentation for NBA accreditation and ranking submissions.
  • To share best practices from institutions that have achieved higher rankings and accreditations.
  • To sensitize faculty and administrators about continuous quality enhancement and outcome-based education.

This workshop had provided a platform for teachers to learn various NBA accreditation criterion with overall methodology, specific marks and documentation for the accreditation process. The workshop also highlights evaluation systems that accurately measure student learning outcomes. The aim was to familiarize participants with quality benchmarks set by national and international accreditation bodies and ranking frameworks. In this workshop, total 25 pharmacy teachers have participated.

The formal welcome of the expert of the training workshop was delivered by Dr. P. D. Bharadia (Executive Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Sciences & Principal of Shree S. K. Patel College of Pharm. Education & Research). He extended a hearty welcome to the esteemed speaker and participants emphasizing on NBA accreditation process with its importance.   

In the morning session of the workshop, Dr. Tejal Mehta shared her knowledge about basics methodology of NBA accreditation as well as different criterion (I-IV) including curriculum, teaching-learning outcomes, students support with suitable examples.

Afternoon session covers criterion V-IX including faculties, facilities, student performance, research, governance etc. with in depth and suitable examples. In the question-answers session, all the questions answers were given by the expert with proper clarification and documentation required.

The overall workshop was benefited to the faculties about the NBA accreditation process and the important takeaways are

  • Outcome Based Education (OBE), Vision & Mission Alignment, Curriculum Delivery & Teaching-Learning, Assessment & Evaluation, Student Performance & Progression, Faculty Contributions, Infrastructure & Learning Resources, Research, Innovation & Industry Linkages, Governance & Institutional Support, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)

The Principal, Dr. P. D. Bharadia provided a comprehensive concluding remark of the workshop and the program was ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Paresh U. Patel, Professor & Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy.
