PG classroom of the college. About 15 pharmacy and science PG students and faculties were
present in the session.
The expert session was delivered by Dr. Anil Mahato, Analytical Scientist, Founder & CEO,
Quest Analytics, Ahmedabad on “Analytical Method Validation: Standards, Strategies and
Success”. He gave very informative session regarding analytical method validation covering
types of validation, difference between calibration and validation, parameters of validation,
regulatory guidelines, system suitability parameters with relevant examples. He also
explained case studies on X-ray diffraction study of one drug with its different polymorphs
diffractogram.
Dr. Anil Mahato explained analytical method validation parameters viz. linearity, precision,
accuracy, specificity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, robustness, ruggedness etc.
with definition, methodology and acceptance criteria.
He also explained various system suitability test parameters like resolution, capacity factor,
tailing, theoretical plates with its importance in analytical method validation and acceptance
criteria.
After completion of the session, many students interacted with speaker for several questions
regarding the analytical method validation and all the questions answer fulfilled by speaker
with very good examples. Good feedback received from the students.
