BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY IN BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

Program Details

Since the inception of B.Tech [Biomedical Engineering] course in 2001 within the span of 15 yrs, the department of Biomedical Engineering is well posed to cater the needs of the course. It is equipped with well-developed laboratories to satisfy the course curriculum of various subjects related especially to the Biomedical Engineering field. The laboratories are well equipped and accommodated in the space area as per AICTE norms.The faculty members are highly related to the course curriculum in Biomedical Engineering subjects by their qualifications and experience. Besides this the supporting core subjects related to Electronics, Computer Programming and Control Engineering are taught in context of biomedical applications.

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subjects with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO 2

Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO 3

Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO 4

Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO 6

Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice.

Understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
