essentially a very healthy celebration and this is an occasion on which we can reiterate our
commitment and resolve to contribute meaningfully to the society. It has been said and
believed since long that for any great work to be done, it is important to have the right
foundation. It actually forms the platform on which the future stands. This exactly stands true
for the Foundation Day of the university. The foundation day of the university is the day when
the institution started its journey. It is therefore obvious that the day is special and needs
celebration in due manner.
Every year when a foundation day is celebrated in a college or any university, it is time to
reflect on the beginnings that took place, and how since inception changes have come
paving the way for success over the years. Foundation day is also the day when the past, the
present, and the future of the institution come together taking vows to uplift the institute to
scale greater heights and dimensions. While saying something on the foundation day, I must
acknowledge that stellar efforts put in by the founders of this great institution who had a
vision of imparting high-quality education to the students. Without their vision and constant
support and blessings, the institution would not have become what it is today.
Special thanks also go out to the faculty who have been with institute ever since its
inception, and guided the students in the best possible way in every sphere of their lives. At
this moment, let me tell you that I haven’t had the occasion to interact with Ganpat University
very intensely. But when I happened to meet a couple of the faculty members, and the way
they conducted themselves, the way they talked to me, the way they articulated
themselves, and whatever little I could gather of the attitude and the positivity that was
exuded by them, I could jolly well imagine how wonderful an institution Ganpat University
must be to have such faculty members. Because all of us know that in today’s times when we
are talking about imparting the right education to the students, the teachers also need to be
trained well. So, amongst other things while large number of things must be high on our list of
priorities, the training of teachers or the Faculty Development Program also needs to be
accorded due priority in our scheme of things. It shall be the constant endeavour of the
university to deliver global standards of excellence in all its core and allied operations, and
remain accountable for national values and objectives of establishment through process of
self-evaluation and continuous improvement.
Our state government is focused on providing employability to the students by developing
skill-based quality educational courses. Education department, Government of Gujarat has
recently launched the Student Start-up and Innovation policy which would go a long way in
helping the students understand the journey from mind to market. Because creativity is
something which we should promote in a big way. And typically, in all over the world we talk
about schooling and formal education in the traditional sense. Somehow, of course not now,
but generally it used to be felt that creativity is being regulated by straightjacketing. So, we
should make extra efforts to ensure that we should promote and inculcate creativity and
application of mind in all the students in a big way. Hence, in that direction, our Student and
Start-up Innovation policy would definitely be able to do a wonderful job.
This policy essentially would be aimed towards the realisation of the vision of our honourable
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. The vision of આ િનભ ર ભારત or આ િનભ ર ગજરાત in our
