As some of the students are leaving the hall, to me the students are like five Pandavas. One
kind of them is like Yudhisthira; the king. He expected everyone else to know the answer. As a
king, he is not supposed to do anything. He has to give tasks to somebody else to do the
work. The others are like Bhima; a man of strength but he wanted others to think for himself.
Then, some other students are like Arjuna; a great archer and a master of deflecting the
arrows coming towards him. Like him, such students are expert in doing the counter
arguments and to go away. Some others are like Nakula; very handsome and smart but not
capable of understanding the situations. The last few are like Sahdeva; who know all the
answers but would not speak till they are asked. It is up to the teachers, how to deal with
such students and how to tackle them.

To sum up, I would love to give an example of king Vikramaditya. King Vikramaditya became a
very wise king not because he was born genius but because he had with him the ghost
named Vaitala who kept on asking him various questions or he would burn the whole of his
kingdom. By being asked constantly and thinking continuously, he became wiser.
In one of the American Universities, I happened to read a quotation as, unless you speak up,

we are not sure whether you have learnt anything or not. Unless the students ask anything,
how he shall be able to learn anything!
Let me end up my talk with one Hindi couplet:
                                        एक जैसी होती ह सब िचंगा रया
                                                    ै
                                     कोई िचराग जलाती ह, कोई आिसयाना
                                                     ै
Meaning: All flames are like same, some can kindle lamps, others can burnt homes
