CONSTRUCTION AND EFFECTIVENESS OF GUJARATI
WRITING COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Abstract :
The objectives of the present research study were : (1) To construct Gujarati Writing
Competency Development Programme standard- VIII students. (2) To try out Gujarati
Writing Competency Development Programme for standard- VIII students for
experimental group. (3) To compare the score of rural habitat and urban habitat students
on post-test of Gujarati Writing Competency Development Programme. (4) To compare
the score of rural habitat and urban habitat students on pre-test of Gujarati Writing
Competency Development Programme. (5) To compare the score of male and female
students on post-test of Gujarati Writing Competency Development Programme. (6) To
study effectiveness of Gujarati Writing Competency Development Programme with
reference to social intelligence and adjustment of class-VIII students. Null hypotheses
were framed. Variables used in the study were Independent, Control & Dependents
variables.
In the present research students from the class-VIII from the secondary school of the
Mehsana district of the Gujarati Medium were selected. To carry out experiment in proper
condition, one school from the Urban Habitat Kavari Day Car School, Mehsana and one
school from rural habitat – Modhera Primary school, Becharji selected. From the three
classes of std. VIII in Kavari Day Care School, Mehsana by lottery method two classes
were selected for sample study. Combining boys and girls total 112 students were
selected for the sample study. Self made group test was given to the students, then after
assessing the test on the bases of marks finally 56 students were selected for the sample
of experiment, other students were left for the uncontrolled group experiment. Post test
was given to 56 students in one class. Same way 84 total students of class VIII from
Modhera Primary School, Becharaji by group equivalent test total 56 students were
selected has the sample of the study. They are treated for the post test. From the each
schools, 56 students were selected as sample of the study. 14 male and 14 female
students selected for experiment group and another remaining students were selected
for control group.
According to Pallaviben Patel (2008) to collect information according to objective and
hypothesis during research process total six tools were used.
