method. The heavy metal determination in pigment was done using atomic absorption
spectroscopy. Extracted pigments were spread across several industries, including food,
textiles, tablet coating, cosmetics and candles. The pigment derived from the methanol
extract of Bixa orellana

L. exhibited significant stability among all chosen areas of application. The present study
suggests that natural colour may be a promising approach for developing effective plant-
based biocolour. Applications of natural pigment promote consumer health protection
and allow manufacturing of eco-friendly biocolour without any synthetic mix.
