Abstract :
Present research is an attempt to analyse the Role of Supernatural Elements &
Adventures in Amish Tripathi‘s Shiva Trilogy. Research is based on descriptive,
conceptual, analytical and qualitative research methodology. Most of the relevant
information has been taken from primary and secondary sources like Amish Tripathi‘s
Shiva Trilogy text and the extensive reading of various articles published in the national
and international journals, reference books and websites.
The entire research work is divided in five chapters. The first chapter describes the
importance of this research and states its objectives, hypothesis and review of literature
and it also gives a detailed introduction of Amish Tripathi as a novelist, his works, and
defines supernatural and adventurous elements. Second chapter presents the role of
supernatural elements and adventures in the first book of trilogy, The Immortals of
Meluha, while the third chapter depicts the importance of supernatural elements and
adventures in the second book of the series The Secret of the Nagas. Fourth chapter
deals with the presence of supernatural elements and adventures in last book of the
series The Oath of the Vayuputras. The last chapter is presented as formal conclusion
where the summary of findings from all earlier mentioned chapters are listed and
concluded that Amish has intellectually used the supernatural and adventurous elements
for the development of the story.
Key words: Adventures, Hindu Mythology, Lord Shiva, Shiva‘s Trilogy, Supernatural and
