Abstract :
The study determines the frustration of students of Secondary Schools. The investigator
has observed that frustrated situation is more found among students studying in
secondary schools. Therefore, the present study is conducted to get necessary
information in context to frustration found among secondary school students. It has
been seen that there are different studies related to frustration has been conducted in
India. After reviewing literature on hand, data collection was done from sample of total
1045 students through a self-constructed and standardized Frustration Scale and data
was collected through that scale. The Test-retest reliability of the present scale was
found 0.83 and split-half reliability (based on even and odd items) was found 0.81. Face
validity and concurrent validity was also found out. The scale was found highly reliable
and valid. The survey method was adopted in the present study. For analysis of data,
mean, standard deviation and chi-ratio were computed using Ms Excel programme and
effect of sex, area, standard and father’s profession on frustration was examined. Results
were concluded based on responses of students on the Frustration scale. The results
suggest that boys of std. 9 of rural area had more frustration than girls had, whereas
boys and girls of std. 10 of urban area had equal frustration. More frustration was found
among boys in compared to that of girls, so efforts should be put to remove their
frustration.
