DEVELOPMENT AND EFECTIVENESS OF PROGRAM FOR ENHANCING EMOTIONAL
INTELLIGENCE AND SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE AWARENESS AMONG TRAINEES OF B.ED.

Abstract :
The study determines the spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence related
awareness among trainees of B. Ed. and its effectiveness. The major aim of the present
study was to examine emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence of trainees
studying in B. Ed. colleges. Smt. B.V.P.P. College of Education, Vadu and College of
Education, Vadasma were randomly selected from rural area and B. Ed. College,
Visnagar and Nilkanth College of Education, Visnagar were selected from urban area of
Mehsana District. Total 200 trainees were selected from those four B. Ed. colleges by
using cluster sampling. The sample was selected by using multistage sampling in the
present study. After reviewing literature on hand, experimental group and control group
consisting 100 students each were formulated. Data was collected from trainees of
selected B. Ed. colleges through Emotional Intelligence Scale, Spiritual Intelligence Scale
and Opinionnaire. The experimental method was adopted in the present study. For
analysis of data, mean, standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis and t-value were
computed and effect of sex was examined. Results were concluded based on
responses of students on the Emotional Intelligence Scale and Spiritual
Intelligence Scale and Opinionnaire. The results suggest that learning done by Emotional
Intelligence Programme was found effective for all B. Ed. trainees included in the
sample, whereas learning done by Spiritual Intelligence Programme was not found
effective for B. Ed. trainees.
