Before I conclude let me elaborate on the opportune times ahead
AMRIT KAAL
At the Global Maritime India Summit, 2023 the Amrit Kaal Vision, 2047 was launched
by the Hon’ble Prime Minister focused on the transformation of India’s Maritime
Sector. The Maritime India Vision, 2030 highlighted important themes and initiatives
in Ports, Shipping and Waterways to stimulate the growth of the nation’s maritime
sector and the Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 underlines efforts to realize the holistic vision
for India’s maritime sector.
Our nation is taking confident strides as a significant player in the Blue Economy of
the region and the world, and the Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 recognizes the importance
of the Blue Economy as one of the fundamental pillars of economic growth while
outlining the road map for sustainable development related to oceans, rivers, and
coastal regions, while focusing on equity, inclusivity and innovation.
The “Sapta -Rishis” of Amrit Kaal – the seven priorities are.
(i) Inclusive development
(ii) Reaching the last mile
(iii) Infrastructure and Investment
(iv) Unleashing the potential
(v) Green growth
(vi) Youth power
(vii) Financial sector growth
These seven priorities will be the guiding stars for India to rise as not only a maritime
power in the global arena but truly as a “World Leader” – a Vishwa Guru – as
envisioned in the G- 20 presidency and leadership of the nation recently.
Inclusive development, productivity enhancement, energy transition and climate
action are the four pillars of the “Amrit Kaal” which need to be tempered with a
universal cooperation with the theme of Vasudeva Kutumbakam while all efforts are
constructive, people centric and gender sensitive.
Passing a professional certification course marks a major transition in one's life. It

and assumes greater responsibilities towards the nation and society. You have not
only professional responsibility but also an obligation towards the health of the
marine ecology and ecosystem. The need of the hour is sustainable and efficient
maritime- related activities including shipping. More resilient and greener practices in
