a testament to your resilience and your commitment to learning. Amongst the thousand
things that I would like to tell you, I have chosen two things that I wished someone would
have told me on the day I graduated.
Firstly, I want to emphasize the power of self-belief. Each of you has a unique set of
talents and capabilities. Trust in yourself and your abilities, for self-belief can propel you
to heights you never thought possible. As a young woman in business, I stand here as
proof that with determination and self-confidence, you can reach the moon and beyond.
Today, when you go back home, I wish that you think about your dreams, your ambitions
– find a good place which you cross every day and print a big “I can I will” poster and
paste it there. I wish that you see the poster everyday and power of positive thinking and
visualization will take you to the moon.
It will become a daily reminder of what you are working towards. Your thoughts are
powerful, and when aligned with focused action, they can shape your reality.
Secondly, I'd like to highlight the importance of mentorship in your journey. Some great
examples would be – Oprah Winfrey & Maya Angelou, Raj & Indira Nooyi, Mark
Zuckerburg & Steve Jobs, Ratan Tata & N. Chandrasekaran, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam &
Srijan Pal Singh.
Seek out mentors who inspire you, guide you, and challenge you to grow. And keep them
for life. Find someone that inspires you and write a strong letter saying, this is why I wish
for you to mentor me. Would you be interested? A little heartfelt, genuine.
communication will go long way. Until you find someone like that, keep reading
biographies and listening to podcasts! As you, the graduates, embark on your own
journeys, remember the value of seeking guidance and being open to the
transformative influence of mentors in your lives.
Once again, congratulations to each one of you. May your journey ahead be filled
with success, fulfillment, and a commitment to social upliftment through education.
Thank you, and Jai Hind!
