8. Behavioral and intellectual contemplates thoughts and actions that have positive
or negative effects on life.
9. Occupational contemplates activities in which one is engaged, interest, skills,
performance, and satisfaction.
10. Financial contemplates planning and saving, cash and credit management along
with risk management.
SEAFARER AND WELLBEING NEED TO BE INTEGRAL
The work of a seafarer also involves mental, psychological, and physical stress
which cannot be compared with other jobs onshore. The working and living
conditions in seafaring and long durations of separation from family and home,
which may cause psychological problems in some seafarers. Seafarers many a
times also have to deal with time pressure and hectic activity during their voyage
which give rise to work related stress. Be professional and do not live in a fool’s
paradise contemplating that life is a bed of roses. It is by dint of your hard work and
merit that you have reached to where you are – at the portals of the Ganpat
University and as you step out as shining ambassadors bearing the Indian Flag on
your proud chest and reflecting the brilliance of your Alma Mater Ganpat University,
do well to prove that you are the best, and second to none in professionalism,
applied knowledge and reliability for your future employer or even more interesting if
many of you choose to be your own master and look at fueling that entrepreneurial
spirit.
SACRIFICE AND LEADERSHIP
I beseech each young mind in this hall today – think about the Indian freedom
fighters – fearless and courageous individuals who dedicated their lives to liberating
our nation from colonial rule. They were driven by a deep sense of patriotism and a
fervent desire for India’s independence. From Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the
nation, to Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sarojini Naidu, and many
others, these freedom fighters fought valiantly against British imperialism through
various means such as nonviolent resistance, armed struggle, and political activism.
Their sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering determination inspired millions and
