the marriage function was for the family, but the meeting concerned our entire nation, and
therefore it was more important. The minister couldn’t hide the feeling of pride at this young
lad’s answer and he at once ordered a military chopper to drop Dr. Kalam home in time for his
sister’s wedding. This has been duly recorded in Dr. Kalam’s autobiography. So, Abdul
Kalam’s life story is an epitome of “Work is Worship” philosophy.
Traits like Work ethics and Honesty are not something that can be taught formally. It is
ingrained in one’s nature and heart only. Hence, we should strive to be wise naturally while
we still have time and do our best in the overall development of the nation. If each one of you
do even 20% more than what you are obliged to do, then the nation will certainly be in your
debt. With these words, I conclude my address. I’m absolutely thrilled to be here today
among such luminaries, and am grateful that Ganpat Dada, and his team at Ganpat
University gave me this opportunity to share my thoughts on this auspicious occasion.
