Abstract :
This study is based on the theme of Existential Crisis in the central characters of the
novel Sons and Lovers by David Herbert Lawrence. It comprises detailed knowledge of
this theme and detailed analysis of the characters on the basis of this theme. This study
reveals that all central characters are suffering from the feeling existence in their own life
through the plot of the novel. It also includes the brief summary of this novel to connect
the plot easily with this theme. The main purpose of this study is to explore this theme in
the novel, which is not explored till today. Since when the novel is written it is read and
researched on the same view. It is also mentioned in the syllabus of the literature
students, but students are only aware of themes like adultery, Oedipus Complex, religion,
physicality, self destruction, grief, etc. Students are not exposed to this theme. This study
only explores this new theme in the central characters of this novel. Through this study
especially would get exposure to new angles and thoughts for this novel.
