payment/ Electronic Delivery order E- DO) for physical release of cargo by
custodians Sagar Drishti Indigenous Vessel Traffic Services Software (VTS)
(integrates the information into a single operator working environment for effective
traffic organization and communication, reduction of more than 20% of the present
cost being spent on annual maintenance and other associated costs, Sagar
Samriddhi (The dredging monitoring system – indent of on board daily dredging
progress report, visualization of daily, monthly progress, dredger performance and
downtime monitoring, Location track data with snapshot on loading, unloading and
idle time) National Navitex Network (maritime safety information, 7 transmitting
stations along Indian coastline and seamless coverage). It is evident that you would

SEAFARERS & SEAFARING

International shipping transports more than 80 per cent of global trade to peoples
and communities all over the world. Shipping is the most efficient and cost- effective
method of international transportation for most goods; it provides a dependable,
low-cost means of transporting goods globally, facilitating commerce and helping to
create prosperity among nations and peoples. The world relies on a safe, secure, and
efficient international shipping industry, which is an essential component of any
programme for future sustainable green economic growth in a sustainable manner.

In the words of Mr. Kittack Lim, Secretary General, International Maritime
Organization, given the way in which shipping contributed during the COVID-19
pandemic, the Secretary General stated “Shipping is a certainty even in uncertain
times”. One of the former Secretary General of the IMO had stated that if shipping
ceases – then ½ of the world will freeze to death and the other half will starve to
death...please comprehend as a potential seafarer - how important you all would be
as truly global citizens contributing to global public welfare and economy. India is in
