overcome and look forward to those that lie ahead, knowing that you have the skills
and knowledge needed to meet them. It is a day you will never forget.
The words "Vidyaya Samajotkarshah," coupled with the name of Ganpat University,
caught my attention when I first entered this vast and lush green campus. It makes
me realize how quickly a trickle of water can get transformed into a huge torrent of
knowledge for the betterment of society, how a tiny acorn can shoot up to be a
mighty oak with a constant belief to do something good for society, and how quickly
an idea can become reality when you've enthroned an ideal of social service in your
            heart.

I would like to emphasize that students’ you should always keep in mind Ganpat
University's mission statement, "Students First Character Must," wherever you go
because knowledge empowers an individual and gives him the liberty to seek his
            own path by making rational
            decisions, character defines a
person, and character is also how
            we remember the person.

            Nelson Mandela rightly said,
            "Education is the most powerful
weapon which you can use to
change the world.” Now you have
that weapon… it is up to you how
            you use it.
            For any university, a convocation
ceremony serves as an occasion to
            reflect on what has been
accomplished in the past year, make
plans for the future, and honor graduate students. It has been my observation that
many of the national and international universities of repute are located in far-flung
places, but to my mind, what makes a university great is primarily its ethos—the
culture, aspirations, and spirit of that university. And I can sense the same air of
excellence and the promise of a strong vision here at Ganpat University. I can
perceive that Ganpat University also has enormous potential to surpass many
            milestones in the near future.

It is said that if the base or the root is strong, then the branches will also be stronger.
As an evident, being a great visionary leader, Ganpatbhai Patel has received the
prestigious Honorary Doctorate award from his alma mater, CSU Pomona (USA), for
his remarkable commitment to learning and in recognition of his ongoing
philanthropic efforts. And for this outstanding achievement, I would like to

                                                                                           46
