“Graduation is more than
donning the gown or
tossing the cap in the air,
it’s the tangible symbol of
the graduates' perseverance and triumphs”
Dr. Mahendra Sharma
Group Pro Chancellor
My heartfelt wishes on the outset as we are holding yet another issue of ‘Prerna Jyot’, a
collection of inspiring speeches orated by eminent personalities at the convocation
ceremony each year. It is intended for the graduates - the “Gunvaans” of Ganpat University
who are going to play a key role in shaping modern times through their efforts, carrying with
them a character laden with values. The present compendium thus has a lucid objective of
extending a resource that could help the youth in and around Ganpat university acquire deep-
set motivation and optimism for the rest of their lives.
I believe the convocation ceremony holds special significance, symbolizing the
acknowledgment of every student’s hard work and achievements. The ceremonial aspects,
from donning the gown and tossing the cap in the air, are not just for the sake of the picture
but tangible symbols of the graduates' perseverance and triumphs, and graduates have every
right to celebrate the moment with all the zest and vigour.
The young ones, however, sometimes misconstrue the meaning behind the addresses
delivered on Convocation days. It's easy to dismiss the lessons delivered on a convocation
day as speeches reserved only for privileged kids, or for some entirely dull and lengthy prose.
But to tell you the truth, the snippets of wisdom catered in ‘Prerna Jyot’ are just the thing you
will hark back to when you’ll be exposed to the deeper issue of life. The point of these
sobering speeches is for graduates to store away in their hearts and recall when the bigger
issues of real life challenge them. Because that's certain to happen. Only within these pages
will you find that trailblazing advice that could dispel your worries or catapult your career in
your chosen field. This is advice for the people still struggling away to kick off their careers,
and to make dreams come true.
I, once more, congratulate the editorial team and offer my sincere compliments for curating
and putting to public use this invaluable compendium of Convocation speeches. The
distinguished chief guests have not merely attended our ceremonies, but have woven threads
of wisdom, motivation, and enlightenment into the tapestry of our institutional legacy,
offering invaluable guidance blazing our trail forward.
