BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

Course Details

Information and communications technology (ICT) encompasses communication and information devices and their applications-radio, television, cellular phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and many other areas. In the B.Tech. (ICT) program the students will also learn about image processing, data communication, networking, data mining, software design and testing. The Program also enables a graduate to focus on application of ICT in variety of fields like business, trade, education, health care, governance, etc.

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subject. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category)

Programme Outcome

At the end of 4 years of an undergraduate course, the graduate should be able to 

1. Design and develop cloud applications, micro services, and hardware communication network systems using knowledge of modern tools and techniques.
2. Apply Virtualization principles systems of varying complexity in emerging areas of business.
3. Develop Internet of Things-based applications. 

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

1. Analyse, design, simulate and implement computer hardware/software and use basic analog /digital circuits, and VLSI design for various computing and communication systems.
2. To analyze a problem, design an algorithm, identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution and implement the same.
3. Anticipate the changing direction of information & communication technology, evaluate and communicate the likely utility of new technologies to an individual or organization for performing tasks related to E-governance, E-Learning, Research, Training, and/or Health Care Management.
